Polled Hereford
Selected by the Hereford Breeders Society of Uruguay
raised on natural pastures     no hormones ...excellent sanitation

The area known as El Rincón de Saavedra, in  Pan de Azúcar, Uruguay, passed from the Rodriguez family to the Saavedras in 1861, and was later sold to Ramón María Cabrera and to Higinio de León as two separate properties. They changed hands again in 1978 becoming what  is known today as the farm El Rincón (The corner). An appropriate name, as it lies at the very end of a winding rural dust road. It was first run by Alberto Molinari and then, from 1993 onwards by Alina Tortosa.

El Rincón cattle comes from good original stock and we continuously upgrade the bloodlines. In raising bulls, heifers and cows, we have taken into account bone structure, steady footing, pigmentation, colouring, efficient conversion of grass into meat, prolificacy, easy births and maternal milk. We follow these traits from generation to generation. True to the Hereford basic characteristics, our cattle are easy going, aesthetically balanced, healthy, fertile, rustic and resilient to weather changes.

Our products for sale are:

• Male calves.
• Two and three year old bulls of pure origin.
• Bullocks.
• Heifers and cows inseminated by prime pedigree bulls.
• Semen of three pedigree bulls.

Those who are interested in our production are welcome to come and get to know us. The landscape itself is worth the drive.
